Safety and Rules

  • Ear, eye and head protection must be worn at all times.

  • Guns will only be closed or loaded when the shooter is in the stand.

  • When out of the stand the gun must be unloaded and only closed if placed in a gun slip.

  • Semi-automatic shotguns should use an easily visible insert to indicate they are unloaded.

  • Fibre Wad cartridges only.

  • A footpath runs up the side of the shooting ground. Walkers will sound the siren (located in our field) to indicate shooting must stop

    • Shooting must not resume until the walkers have indicated they have reached safety at the other end of the footpath by sounding the siren twice.

  • Alarm handsets are placed on every shooting stand to allow for trap maintenance

    • Sounds the alarm once to cause all shooting to cease to allow safe entry to into the shooting zone.

    • Trap maintenance must only be handled by approved personnel

    • When the trap maintenance is complete, and it has been checked everyone is clear to of the shooting zone the siren can be sounded twice for shooting to commence.

  • Traps should only be loaded by approved personnel, de-cocked and the power disconnected before doing so.
